Graham, Texas - The North Star of Texas - Written about in various publications including Texas Highways magazine, Graham is a small town that is known for being neither too large nor too small - but "just right". The beauty and logistics of the area has been a popular escape for many individuals seeking solace from the everyday rigors of metropolitan life. Graham offers an opportunity to experience a quality of life at a slower pace. Extremely rich in Old West history, the area in and around Graham boasts some of the most colorful and historical events that ever occurred anywhere in Texas during the 1800's, when the military forts, pioneer settlers and the native American Indians were heavily engaged. The large number of past events that occurred in and around this area have warranted many placements of Texas State Historical Markers in order to recall and preserve the areas significant contribution to Texas history. Many of those historical sites (such as Forts) still exists today.

The Historic Town Square - Considered to be America's largest downtown square, many of the buildings have stood in Graham from its very existence. You will enjoy a leisurely shopping stroll through the various quaint shops. Dine at one of the fine eateries. Catch a movie at the old National Theatre which was built in 1919. Visit the Old Post Office Museum and Art Center. See the old 1884 Courthouse Archway. View the Veteran's Memorial. See the famous Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association's founding site which dates back to 1877. Visit the old Young County Jail and learn of the events there that involved the local Marlow brothers which was the inspiration for John Wayne's famous western movie, "The Son's of Katie Elder" - and the list goes on.
